The expectation is to attract an audience of one hundred thousand people in the 14 days of the festival
The 65th Amazonas Folkloric Festival (FFA) starts this Sunday (11), starting at 7 pm, at the Povos da Amazônia Cultural Center (CCPA), at bola da Suframa, in the Industrial District, south of the capital of Amazonas. The national attraction, JM Puxado, will perform at 21:30 at the opening of the event.
During the 11th and 12th, eighteen dances that wish to enter the official contest will be presented in the “Folk Show” modality, without evaluation by judges and/or competition. The Bronze and Silver categories will be presented from June 13th to 25th, from 7:00 pm to 11:55 pm.
The director-president of Manauscult, Osvaldo Cardoso, points out that in addition to encouraging the promotion of culture, the festival also generates jobs.
“This year we want to promote the cultural recovery and tradition of the old festivals. For this, we adjusted the value of the promotion; we anticipate the release of the resource; we made technical adjustments to the dance presentation arena which, this year, in an innovative way, will have an aisle; we are providing an area for selling food, handicrafts and for children’s fun; in addition to investing in the comfort and safety of the families who will come to honor this beautiful party that deserves to be passed on to future generations”, concluded Cardoso.
Among the attractions, square dances, cirandas, cacetinho, tribes, boi-bumbá, national, international and northeastern dances will compete in their respective categories.
