Fans protest in front of CT after new defeat
THE bus of the delegation of Athleticowho returned from Rio de Janeiro after the defeat to Flamengo, was received node CT do Cajuin Curitiba, with crowd protest, on Monday morning (3). In a video circulating on social media, fans chant “shame” on the team.
Around 40 red and black fans went to the door of the training center to demonstrate against the team’s results in the centenary year. The team was eliminated from the Brazilian Cup, against Vasco, and the Sudamericana, against Racing, in recent weeks. To top it off, Athletico has accumulated eight rounds without winning in the Brasileirão and is three points away from the relegation zone.

Despite the protests, few players were on the bus. Everyone was released at Afonso Pena Airport, meaning many did not even return to CT. With the week full of training, as Furacão returns to the field at the weekend, the athletes got a day off this Monday.
Athletico near ZR do Brasileirão
Without winning for two months, Athletico fell in the standings. The team occupies the 15th position with 31 pointsthree more than Corinthians, the first team in the relegation zone, and Vitória.

The last triumph came on July 28, against Cuiabá, away from home. Since then, the team has five defeats (Flamengo, Palmeiras, Vasco, Juventude and Grêmio) and three draws (Criciúma, Fortaleza and Internacional).
Despite the setback for Flamengo, Furacão had its risk of relegation reduced from 11% to 10%, thanks to the rivals’ stumbles – Corinthians lost the classic to São Paulo and Vitória were beaten by Internacional.
Furthermore, it is worth remembering that Rubro-Negro still has two games less than its main rivals in the fight against relegation. This is because the games against Atlético-MG and Fluminense, in rounds 17 and 19, have not yet taken place.
Athletico will make a comeback against leader Botafogo
Trying to get back on his feet, coach Lucho González will be able to count on the return of midfielder Gabriel, who was left out against Flamengo due to suspension.
