Artist already has more than 30 years of work dedicated to art

Manaus/AM – Combining technology and culture through the visual arts, Instituto Evereste inaugurated last Friday (26), the exhibition “Todas as Cores” by artist Rubens Belém at its headquarters, at Av. Visconde de Porto Alegre, Praça 14 de Janeiro neighborhood, central-south zone of Manaus. With a collection of 20 works produced in acrylic on canvas using the spatulate painting technique, a trademark of Belém, the paintings portray aspects of the Amazonian fauna and flora and scenes of riverside life, in particular, indigenous peoples.

Celebrating 7 years of existence in the Amazonian capital in May, the Evereste Institute sets an example by being a private organization that seeks to value the local artist.

“Many times the Amazonian man, the producer of culture, does not have space to demonstrate what he is capable of. A space to present to society what culture is. So, Everest noticed this gap and we decided to open our house and receive this gift”,

said André Fabiano Pereira, president of the Everest Institute.

For the artist, who already has more than 30 years of work dedicated to art, initiatives in this direction also contribute for more names to be recognized in the region.

“We need to publicize the plastic artist and when he doesn’t find this incentive, he ends up unmotivated. Everest is innovating, opening its doors to promote local artists. I usually say that the artist needs to sell. Yes. Is important. But encouraging appreciation is much more important, because when the artist finds this, he is more motivated to produce with quality. So, I have a lot to thank Everest for this initiative. It is very commendable and I am very happy about it.”

Television presenter Norma Araújo was also present and points out that the exhibition is a great opportunity to bring together those who often have not had contact with art. “I wish everyone had that sensibility, that companies, institutes would open their doors to local artists.

Because we have exponents here, we have people who have wonderful works like this one by Rubens Belém. So, it’s something that humanizes, brings people closer to the institution, the company. Get people to know each other. I think it’s vital, important and fundamental. The Amazon is the place that will save the planet. I have no doubt about it. It needs to be valued in all spheres”,
