The State Tourism Company (Amazonastur) presents the magic and originality that make Amazonas one of the wedding destinations, known as “destination wedding”. The modality came up with the idea of ​​couples eternalizing their love outside the city where they live and with paradisiacal scenarios.

Known for its breathtaking natural beauties, the Amazon has become a highlight among destinations for wedding tourism. Featuring an infinity of unique landscapes, it is a region rich in culture and traditions. The state allows the bride and groom and their guests to immerse themselves in authentic experiences, such as visits to indigenous communities, getting to know the local cuisine, enjoying the waterfalls, trails and much more, thus providing unique moments.

Opting for a “destination wedding” in the Amazon means embracing the opportunity to experience a wedding with a fascinating ceremony and a reception marked by the exuberance of the forest. That’s what happened to the manauara and psychology student Bruna Menezes, who wanted to be “blessed in the midst of nature”. She says that it came true when she found the perfect place, getting married on the banks of a waterfall, in Presidente Figueiredo.

“I always wanted to get married close to nature and I always saw everyone getting married on the beach, and I wanted my wedding to be different. So, when we were researching things to get married, I thought of Presidente Figueiredo waterfalls and for me the idea was perfect”,

Born in Rio de Janeiro, web developer Guilherme Fernandes proposed to the student in a waterfall, just as they had their first date, which is why the ceremony could not have taken place elsewhere.

“I felt incredible energy that day. The wedding was scheduled to start at three, but March still has a lot of rain and as we expected, it rained on the day and it stopped raining only at the time of the ceremony, and the weather cleared up when it was time to enter. However, they say that rain on the wedding day is a blessing. So it was really like that, a very special energy and full of blessings”,

In the region there are numerous possibilities of services, infrastructure and options for holding different types of weddings. Forest hotels are options that offer complete and extremely luxurious packages, but there are also more intimate choices. In addition, specialized companies can help plan all the details, from transport logistics to hiring local suppliers.

The ceremonialist Ivonete Pimentel has been working in this market for a few years and usually holds weddings in this format here in Amazonas. She says that, in recent times, national demand has increased; and most of the people who seek the service are formed by foreigners.

“Everybody wants to get married in the Amazon. Today, I receive, annually, an average of eighty couples, especially from Canada, but I receive a lot of people from Switzerland, and we also have Chinese people who want to get married here. In general, it is someone who knows someone from the city or has something that ends up linking this event, bringing a convenience”,

According to the ceremonialist, 20% of the clients who come to Amazonas know the state for the first time and want to marry with the structure that can be carried out.

In a fast-paced world, choosing the Amazon as a destination for a wedding is a way to reconnect with nature and appreciate the smallest details.
