Debate: Nunes, Boulos and Tabata dodge questions – 09/30/2024 – Power

Ricardo Nunes (MDB), Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) and Tabata Amaral (PSB) dodged questions asked by opponents during the debate Sheet/UOL this morning (30).

Nunes did not respond to repeated questions from Pablo Marçal (PRTB) about the police report filed by his wife, Regina Nunes, for domestic violence in 2011. “Why did your wife file a police report for domestic violence?”, asked the influencer several times.

Nunes responded by saying that he would not fall for provocation or pointing out his rival’s convictions – the businessman was convicted of qualified theft.

Boulos did not explain his changes in position on Venezuela – he previously praised the country’s government, which he now describes as a dictatorship. He also gave no answer when asked about drug decriminalization, which he defended in 2018 and now says is not his position.

Tabata, also a federal deputy, did not answer why she failed to register a vote on a project that released electronic casinos or on projects similar to Pé de Meia. She claims the proposal as an achievement of her mandate, but there were already others in the Chamber with similar content filed before by other deputies.

Incident report

In the final stretch of the debate, Marçal and Boulos brought to light the police report in which Ricardo Nunes’ (MDB) wife says she was attacked by her husband. The case was revealed by Sheet.

On several occasions, Marçal asked why Nunes’ wife, Regina, filed a police report.

“Pablo Henrique, I’ve been married for 27 years. I’ve never lifted a finger to my wife. What’s true is that the boy who attacked Duda Lima started a fight, tore his shirt to say he was attacked”, replied Nunes.

Afterwards, Marçal insisted on the question. “Why did your wife file a police report. Was she drunk?”

Nunes said he would not fall into a supposed trap by Marçal to get him out of focus.

Boulos, in turn, said that Nunes would need to explain herself about attacking his wife, but that he has avoided doing so in all the debates.

The mayor also did not answer why his administration interrupted the legal abortion service, the only one in the public network in São Paulo. Nunes only responded that the law is being complied with, but did not say which hospital carries out the procedure.

Venezuela

Asked in the Folha/UOL debate about his changes in positions regarding drug decriminalization and Venezuela, the PSOL candidate, Guilherme Boulos, dodged.

“We try to have an ideological debate in a municipal election. Does anyone think that [para] If you leave Jardim São Luís early to work, are you worried about Venezuela or the crowded bus?” asked Boulos.

“If there’s one thing no one can say about me, it’s that I’m not consistent with my principles.”

Project that released casinos

Candidate Tabata Amaral (PSB) did not clarify why she did not vote for the project that released online casinos in December last year.

When questioned, she stated that “despite not having this specific vote registered, my position is known”. “We need tough legislation.”

Candidate Tabata Amaral (PSB) was asked about a UOL report that showed that projects similar to Pé de Meia were filed years earlier by deputies Idilvan Alencar (PDT) and Marília Arraes (PT). The candidate was asked if she had adopted the idea of ​​other parliamentarians, but she was not clear in her response.

“I find it sad that you bring here a false narrative that was brought by Marina Helena in the last debate. Marina Helena brings lies, attacks opponents, I only have one thing to say: anyone who has any doubts, type Pé de Meia and see who the author of the project.”

Marta Suplicy

Ricardo Nunes (MDB) dodged a series of questions from Pablo Marçal (PRTB) about the fact that Marta Suplicy (PT) had left his management to join Guilherme Boulos’s (PSOL) ticket.

Marta was Nunes’s International Relations Secretary. In a move made by Lula (PT), he assumed the position of vice-president on Boulos’ ticket.

“Ricardo Nunes, in ten debates I asked you why your secretary Marta Suplicy is Boulos’ deputy, you didn’t answer”, said Marçal, in one of the interventions. Nunes did not respond again.
