The program ends with the second edition of the theater race, on a route through the streets of downtown Manaus

Manaus (AM) – The weekly schedule of Teatro Amazonas, starting on the Corpus Christi holiday, Thursday (06/08), brings a diversified program that brings together dance, music and ends with the second edition of the theater race, on a tour through the streets of the center of Manaus. The Amazonas Theater is the state’s greatest cultural asset, managed by the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy and, during the year, it receives attractions promoting the cultural circuit, valuing the artistic bodies of the state and the artistic class in general.

The theater doors open this Thursday, at 8 pm, for the Amazonas Folklore Ballet to present “A Dança do Sol”. The show is inspired by the work of Amazonian writer and teacher Mário Ipiranga Monteiro. The research to arrive at the performance was carried out in 1934 on the Mapiá river and talks about worshiping the sun through the eyes of the Arara Indians. The show lasts 40 minutes and the classification is free, with free admission.

The dance continues on Friday’s schedule (09/06), at 4 pm, with the “Sarau no Hall – Dançando o Amor”, also with the Folkloric Ballet of Amazonas. In this work, the artistic body brings a repertoire of local musicians, exploring love in different ways, physical, platonic, to life, proving that love is worth it anyway. It lasts 25 minutes and takes place in the lobby of Teatro Amazonas.

Also on Friday, classical music is present on the theater stage. With free admission, the “Concert with the Orquestra Pro Cultura do Amazonas” is presented, conducted by Rubens Souza. The orchestra created in 2019, brings together new and experienced musicians from the city in a composition of 50 members. In the repertoire of the night, the works, “Abertura Festival Acadêmico”, by Johannes Brahms and the “Symphony #5 Op. 107 Reformation” by Felix Mendelssohn.

On Saturday (10/06), the repertoire is of great hits by singer and composer Djavan, interpreted by David Assayag. The show “Djavaneando com David Assayag e Quarteto Iberê” brings songs of great influence in MPB and an intimate and romantic show, on the eve of Valentine’s Day. The show starts at 8pm, lasts for 1h30 and tickets are on sale at www.shopingressos.com.br and at the Teatro Amazonas box office.

Closing the week, the 2nd Run of the Teatro Amazonas takes place this Sunday (11/06), at 6 am, starting and finishing on Avenida José Clemente, in Largo de São Sebastião, Centro. Registration at www.ticketsports.com.br until vacancies are closed.

The kits will be delivered to subscribers this Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm, on the side of Teatro Amazonas, parallel to Rua 10 de Julho.

The athletes’ route will be 7 kilometers through the streets of downtown Manaus, passing through cultural spaces such as Palácio Rio Negro, Palácio da Justiça, Parque Jefferson Perez, Palacete Provincial, until returning to Teatro Amazonas.
