Daily average of positive Covid test rises in Brazil – 03/17/2023 – Panel SA

The daily average of diagnoses in Covid tests carried out in pharmacies in the first 12 days of March was 973, compared to 632 in February and 655 in January, according to Abrafarma (an association that brings together large chains such as RaiaDrogasil, Pacheco, Panvel and others).

Despite the high, the entity sees a sign of stability, because the percentages of positives in total tests remain at levels of 14% to 16% in this first quarter.

It is a much lower scenario than that recorded in November and December, when the number of cases reached 2,932 (33% of care provided) and 4,871 (35%), respectively, according to Abrafarma.

In a note, Sergio Mena Barreto, CEO of Abrafarma, says that, even with a clear sign of pandemic control, the large pharmacy chains maintain their test stocks for possible increases in demand.
