Coritiba decides whether Alef Manga will travel to face América-MG
THE Coritiba defined this Wednesday (2) that it will not have Alef Manga for the match against América-MG on Friday (4), at 7pm, for the 30th round of Series B.
The striker will not be included in the match at the option of coach Jorginho. The information was released by ge.com. The list of athletes fit for the game has not yet been released by the club.

Manga was reinstated last week to Coxa’s main squad after serving 360 days of punishment for manipulating football results. In 2022, the player accepted R$45,000 to receive a yellow card in a match for the Brasileirão.
Last Friday (27), coach Jorginho had spoken about the possibility of listing the athlete for the 30th round, as long as he showed he was prepared during the training week.

“If he shows me this week that he has the ability to play for at least 15 to 20 minutes, I’ll take him to the game, no problem.because I know that he is a player who has a different quality to decide a game. If not, we will wait a little longer”, said Jorginho, at a press conference at the time.
Athlete can return in the 31st round
Now, the greatest possibility is that the player will return in the 31st round. According to the coach, the ideal would be for Alef Manga to have two full weeks of training to be able to return and get on the field.
“The ideal would be two full weeks of work for him. […] The medical and physiological part can speak better than me and we will talk. I know that if Manga can help us, he is an extremely interesting player”, explained the coach.
Manga returned to training in September
Last Thursday (26), the attacker did his first training session with the main group after the punishment. Previously, the player had been training separately since March, at alternative times.
The attacker was punished in the MP-GO’s Operation Maximum Penalty, which investigated sports manipulation schemes in Brazilian football. The punishment, initially valid only for Brazilian football, was internationalized by FIFA in October last year.
For a part of the fans, Manga is a hope in the thigh-white attack for the fight for access. Currently, Coxa is in eighth place, with 41 points, six behind the G4.
