THE Brazilian Championship Series B had his 27th round completed last Thursday (19), with Santos’ victory over Botafogo-SP and Ponte Preta’s triumph over CRB.
From now on, the dispute enters its final and most decisive phase, with the fight for a place among the top four intensifying, which guarantees access to the 2025 Brasileirão Series A.

At the moment, Novorizontino leads the competition, with 50 points won in 27 matches; Santos comes next, with 49 points; followed by Vila Nova, with 45; and, closing the G4, by Sport, with 43.

At the bottom of the table, the relegation zone is made up of bottom-placed Guarani, with 24 points in 26 matches; Brusque, with 26 points; CRB, with 26 points; and Chapecoense, with 28 points.
It is worth remembering that the following lists do not necessarily reflect each club’s position in the Série B table, but rather the chances of achieving the objectives at the end of the competition.

Series B: competition regulations
Série B 2024 follows the format adopted for the competition since 2016, which mirrors the regulations of Série A of the Brasileirão.
The tournament is played by 20 clubs, which face each other in a home and away match over 38 rounds. All teams play 19 home games and 19 away games.
The competition takes place in a round robin format, with the final classification defined after the sum of the scores at the end of the 38 rounds. At the end of the competition, in addition to the champion, the other three best placed teams, which form the G4, guarantee access to Series A.
At the other end of the standings, the last four placed teams are relegated to Series C of the Brazilian Championship.
