Central Bank employees mark new protests – 06/07/2023 – Panel SA

The servers of the Central Bank approved this Wednesday (7) partial stoppages for the 13th and 15th of next week. The category claims, since last year, a career restructuring in the municipality.

In May, the servers had already interrupted, without success, during working hours to force a negotiation with the Lula government.

Dissatisfaction grew this week after the regulation of the efficiency bonus for tax auditors of the Federal Revenue Service.

“The visible scrapping of the body’s specialist career, which has been taking place in the last decade, with readjustments below inflation, without new tenders and with the growing asymmetries in relation to other similar careers, puts the autarchy’s deliveries to society at risk and jeopardizes the fulfillment of its institutional mission, including its role as regulator and supervisor of the National Financial System and as manager of the STR, Selic and Pix, for example”, says Fábio Faiad, president of Sinal (National Union of Bank Employees Central).

In September 2022, the category, the BC board and members of the then Jair Bolsonaro government agreed on a plan that, according to the union, only provides for adjustments to job names and more requirements for entering the career.

According to Faiad, the entities representing the BC’s technical staff held a meeting this Wednesday at the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services. They complain about the absence of Minister Esther Dweck.

The leader also claims that, since Lula’s inauguration, a non-salary claim agenda has been delivered to the government, but government members claim that they were not aware of the demands of the category.

“If the category’s agenda continues to be ignored by Minister Esther Dweck, the next step will be the approval of the Standard Operation with even stronger impacts on BC services”, says Faiad.

Next week’s stoppages should affect the functioning of the Pix Forum, created by the BC to discuss matters related to instant payments from the SPB (Brazilian Payment System).

The meeting was scheduled for the 15th and, if pressure from public servants does not sensitize the government, this could be the second meeting of the forum affected by the movement of public servants — the one in March was canceled for the same reason.
