Carla Zambelli is diagnosed with cardiac syndrome
Representative Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) was diagnosed with “Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome”, a condition associated with benign arrhythmia and acute diverticulitis. The information was released this Saturday (28) by the Hospital do Coração (HCor), in São Paulo, through a medical bulletin signed by three doctors, including a cardiologist and a general surgeon.
Hospitalized since Thursday (26), the parliamentarian did not appear to testify at the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the case in which she is a defendant, accused of involvement in the invasion of Judiciary systems. According to HCor, the congresswoman’s acute diverticulitis is considered “uncomplicated” and is being treated with antibiotics. Doctors say that the condition is pre-existing and that Carla Zambelli responds well to treatment, being stable and expected to be discharged in the coming days. The initial medical report mentioned an episode of syncope.
Carla Zambelli and hacker Walter Delgatti are defendants in the STF for allegedly breaking into Brazilian justice systems, including inserting a false arrest warrant against Minister Alexandre de Moraes, with a forged signature from the magistrate himself. Delgatti confessed to the crime, while Zambelli denies involvement. Both have been defendants since May, following a unanimous decision by the 1st Panel, and there is still no deadline for the conclusion of the trial.
In a statement, the deputy’s office informed that she would not attend the testimony due to a Looper test being carried out to diagnose her arrhythmia. The previous morning, Zambelli reportedly fell ill and was admitted to the HCor coronary intensive unit, with no expected discharge.
Walter Delgatti’s testimony was also scheduled for last Thursday, but was postponed. Now, the expectation is that both will be heard next Tuesday (1st). The STF has been collecting statements from witnesses since Monday (23), as part of the procedural instruction. Among those testifying are advisors to Carla Zambelli, Delgatti and employees of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). As defendants, Delgatti and Zambelli have the right to be heard last.
