The Brazilian team is a finalist in the futsal World Cup. This Wednesday (2), the team led by Marquinhos Xavier beat Ukraine 3-2, with two goals from Dyego and one own. With the exciting victory, Amarelinha secured a place in the decision and continues in the search for the sixth star.
Brazil returns to the court next Sunday (6), at 12pm (Brasília time), to face the winner of the semifinal between Argentina and France. The final will be played at the Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
THE GAME
The match between Brazil and Ukraine was very balanced. Although the Brazilian team dominated part of the game, the Ukrainians also had good moments. The first half was almost entirely tied. With three minutes remaining, Cherniavskyi cleared the ball and hit the corner of the goal. William to open the scoring.
With less than a minute in the second half, Dyego faced the marking and tried to play for Rafa, but the ball was intercepted by the Ukrainian defense who scored an own goal. Soon after, Dyego scored Brazil’s second.
Ukraine held firm and managed to equalize with a goal from Abakshyn. With four minutes left in the game, the Brazilian team suffered their sixth foul. Captain Dyego took the ball, took responsibility for himself and scored his second goal in the match, which guaranteed Brazil’s qualification for the final.
