One of the first signs of recovery from an economic crisis is the improvement in the labor market. In the analysis of the Bulletin FoodCo. this week, economist João Ricardo Tonin, assesses the country’s recovery and brings strategies for entrepreneurs in the away-from-home food sector to improve their sales.

According to Tonin, Brazil is in the first phase of the economic recovery cycle, when jobs are for less qualified professionals with lower wages.

Therefore, the economist warns “Even if there is an increase in the volume of money circulating in the economy, the disposable income for families is still limited”.

In the analysis of the Bulletin FoodCo., Tonin explains that there are still no concrete expectations of when this economic phase will pass. “Meanwhile, consumers will continue looking for more competitive prices. Therefore, it is important that we take advantage of all available sales opportunities”, he adds.

One strategy is to offer food options at more affordable prices, without leaving aside more expensive products to attract customers with greater purchasing power.

The FoodCo. with the complete and audio analysis of the economist João Ricardo Tonin is an exclusive weekly content for the platform’s subscribers. FoodCo. is the largest community of bar and restaurant owners in Brazil. There are more than 13,000 entrepreneurs in the sector gathered in a network of knowledge and networking, with access to essential content for those who undertake food outside the home.
