Boulos: hospitalization for depression and experience with marijuana – 09/30/2024 – Poder

Candidate Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) reacted to an insinuation from Pablo Marçal (PRTB) and revealed, during the debate, the Sheet/UOL, this Monday (30), that he was hospitalized when he was young because of depression and that he never used cocaine, as his opponent accused without evidence, but admitted to having tried marijuana.

Boulos brought the hospitalization case to light after Marçal mentioned, without clear context, information that he was supposed to make public in the last week before the first round. The PRTB candidate had already been responsible for associating Boulos’ name with cocaine, but Sheet showed that the accusation was made based on the case of a deputy’s namesake.

The PSOL candidate said in the debate that “Marçal’s lowliness has no limit”, classifying his opponent as someone who entered the campaign “just to attack and disrupt”, and revealed that when he was 19 years old he was hospitalized for chronic depression.

“I dealt with it, I overcame depression and moved on, which is what I wish for everyone who faces depression,” said Boulos, saying that the influencer works with “mud, lies” and reiterating that the farce set up by the competitor on cocaine case had already been exposed by the report.

The PSOL candidate highlighted that many other young people face the problem of chronic depression. “I’ve never said that publicly, because it doesn’t fit.”

The deputy also stated that the PRTB candidate tried to “force yet another fake news”, which he wanted to leave for the final stretch of the campaign, but “was unmasked live”. “I’m not going to argue with a citizen like that”, he added.

Afterwards, Marçal questioned Boulos directly about the use of cocaine and marijuana.

“I never used cocaine. I don’t use drugs. I tried marijuana once, when I was a teenager, it gave me a bad headache, and never again”, he replied.

After the clash on the program, Boulos stated that he intends to seek out the doctors responsible for his case and obtain his hospitalization records for eventual disclosure. He stated that he decided to bring the episode to light when Marçal mentioned the hospital and concluded that this would be used to attack him.
