Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said, on Tuesday night (14), that he may return to Brazil on March 29, but that he will only confirm his return a week earlier. The statement was given during an event with businessmen in the city of Orlando, in the United States, as reported by the newspapers Folha de São Paulo and O Globo this Wednesday (15).

“I always set a date to return, the date now set is the 29th of this month. When there is a week left, we study the situation, how is Brazil, how are the contacts here”, he said.

At the same event, Bolsonaro said that his wife Michelle Bolsonaro was even launched for the Presidency in 2026, but that “she was disgusted” with the possibility and that “she is not a candidate for the Executive”. However, he said it was possible that she could run for some “elective office”.

Michelle traveled to the United States on Tuesday, and should stay there until the end of this week, according to the former president.

Still at the meeting, the former president commented on the actions implemented during his government, such as the reduction in the number of ministries, the autonomy of the Central Bank and the visa exemption for US citizens to visit Brazil, officially revoked this week. And, still, he criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), with emphasis on the ministers scheduled to compose the new government.
