Athletico suspends exhibition of the biggest sponsorship in the club’s history
THE Athletico announced the suspension of the agreement with Lucky Sportswhich has sponsored the club since March 2023. The measure was taken after the company was on the list of bookmakers with irregularities and should be banned by the federal government.
In a note, Furacão says it is suspending the brand’s exposure “based on contractual and legal prerogative, as well as requesting within a specified period of time to provide clarifications on the regularity of its operation in light of the recently reported facts.”
The measure will now be valid for the duel against Botafogo on Saturday (5), at 4:30 pm, at Ligga Arena, for the 29th round of the Brasileirão. The Government even set a deadline for clubs to “clean up” uniform sponsorships by October 11th.
The contract between Athletico and Esportes da Sorte is valid for three years, with estimated values between R$16 million and R$17 million per year. The agreement was announced last year and represented the largest amount of sponsorship in red-black history.

This decision, in addition to other factors involved, arises from information released by the Ministry of Finance (SPA/MF) that betting houses not listed to operate in Brazil until the end of the year (in the case of “Esportes da Sorte”) are considered illegal and their websites only remain online until 10/10 for bettors to redeem deposited amounts.
What bet says
Esportes da Sorte has not yet officially commented on the situationbut, according to the UOL portal, the companies have already contacted the Federal Government to seek clarification on the reasons that led them to be left off the list of platforms authorized to operate in Brazil.
