The agenda of racism in football gained great repercussions with the discriminatory acts practiced against the Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior, who plays for Real Madrid, in Spain. The criminal practice took place in the match between Valencia and Real Madrid, last Sunday (21), for LaLiga.

The striker himself, personalities from inside and outside the pitch, as well as the Brazilian government and other countries demonstrated against racism. In Amapá, clubs, entities, political authorities and the Amapaense Football Federation (FAF) also took a stand.

This movement motivated the Amapá Professional Athlete Assurance Association (AGAP), led by the coach with great experience from Amapá, Vitor Jaime, to coordinate a public act against racism. The idea is to mobilize the supporters of the Campeonato Amapaense, the main local professional football competition, not to allow criminal acts of racial discrimination to take place inside the tucuju stadiums.

The act in favor of Vinícius Júnior organized by AGAP will take place this Thursday (25), during a match between Independente and São Paulo/AP, scheduled to start at 8 pm. The act has the support of the FAF and the Association of Former Players of Amapá (Excrete).

“We are going to occupy Zerão’s lawn with banners and shouts of order that express our position totally against crimes of discrimination of any kind. We are athletes and we defend that football is a social tool of struggle, which promotes equality and respect. We count on the participation of the fans in our act”, Vitor Jaim pointed out
