Arthur Silva wins gold in the Paralympic Judo Grand Prix in Egypt – News of Brazil

Arthur Silva from Rio Grande do Norte won the gold medal in the up to 90 kg category of the J1 class (total blind) at the Grand Prix of Alexandria (Egypt) in Paralympic judo. This was one of three conquests by Brazil on Tuesday (14), the last day of the competition.

This Tuesday, Brazil also secured a silver with Rebeca Silva, in the category over 70 kilos for athletes in the J2 class (low vision), and a bronze with Alana Maldonado, category up to 70 kilos also in the J2.

With these medals, the Brazilian team closed the Alexandria GP in fifth place, with a total of six medals (one gold, one silver and four bronzes).

This was the second of four stages of the international circuit of the International Federation of Sports for the Blind (IBSA) scheduled for 2023. Before that, Brazil won the first stage of the 2023 circuit, played last month in Portugal. The other two stages will be in Azerbaijan, in September, and in Japan, in December.
