Amounts receivable: see 8 situations with forgotten money – 10/02/2024 – Market
Brazilians have until October 16th to collect forgotten money from banks, investment brokers, consortium administrators, cooperatives and other institutions. After this period, billions parked in the Central Bank’s SVR (Values Receivable System) will be transferred to the National Treasury’s coffers, as provided for in the law on reimbursing companies’ payroll.
Even after the 16th, there will still be a second chance to ask for the money: the government will have to publish a notice detailing the amounts and, from then on, another 30 days will be given to ask for the money. There will also be a period of six months to go to court, counting from the publication of this notice.
The query to find out if you have money to receive is done on the SVR website. At this stage, it is not necessary to have a gov.br account and it is possible to check data on individuals and legal entities, including deceased people and companies that have closed.
The report asked the Central Bank to detail the most common situations in which money is forgotten. See if you fit into one of them.

How can I check if I have forgotten money?
Go to the Receivable Values System website. If the query concerns an individual, provide the CPF number and date of birth. If it is a legal entity, provide the CNPJ number and the date the company was opened. The system will tell you if there is money to receive, but without detailing the amount or where it is. To find out these details, you will need to access the SVR, with a silver or gold standard government account.
How to transfer forgotten money?
- If there are amounts to be received, click on “Access the SVR”;
- Log in with your gov.br account, you need to be silver or gold to access;
- Access “My Receivables”;
- Read and accept the Science Term;
- The system shows the amounts receivable relating to the taxpayer’s own CPF, deceased persons and closed companies
- When requesting the amount, the system will provide transfer instructions
To withdraw amounts, do I still need to have a Pix key?
Yes, to make a redemption request through SVR you must have a pre-registered Pix key. However, the user can also request a refund directly from the financial institution.
How long does it take for the amount to be returned?
According to the Central Bank, the refund is the responsibility of the institution and will be made within 12 working days. If the financial institution has not signed the adhesion agreement with the BC, the only way to receive the money is by contacting it. In this case, as it is not possible to indicate the Pix key in the SVR, the 12 working day period is not mandatory and it is necessary to agree on the form and deadline for return with the institution.
How to consult values of deceased people?
The steps for the consultation are similar and you need to go to the BC website. It is also necessary to enter the gov.br account of the heir or successor. Within the SVR, when accessing “My Amounts Receivable”, the field “Amounts for deceased people” will appear. Click on “Access” and enter the CPF and date of birth of the deceased person. It is necessary for an heir, executor, executor or legal representative to consult and fill out a liability waiver. After this process, you need to contact the institutions that hold the values and check how to proceed.
What is the total value of forgotten money?
Brazilians still have R$8.56 billion to redeem in the SVR, according to the latest available data, referring to June. The next release will come out in early October. Beneficiaries who have money to receive in more than one value range are counted more than once, according to the Central Bank. It is possible, for example, for a person to have R$10 to withdraw from a bank and another R$4 to receive at a brokerage. The majority of deposits are concentrated in the range of up to R$10. Deposits above R$1,001.01 represent less than 2%.
