Amazon show receives three nominations for national children’s theater award

The work by Cia Buia Teatro received three nominations for the 7th edition of the CBTIJ Award

Manaus (AM) – With current themes, the work “Cabelos Arrepiados” by Cia Buia Teatro received three nominations in the categories: best lighting, animated forms and soundtrack, among 44 shows from all over Brazil, to compete for the 7th edition of the “CBTIJ Award”, from the Brazilian Center Theater for Children and Youth. The award result will be announced on March 29, at an event that will bring together the nominees and the artistic class, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The show is part of the culture promotion policies of the Feliciano Lana Prize Edict – Lei Aldir Blanc, made available by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. For the portfolio secretary, Marcos Apolo Muniz, the success of the work is the result of the state’s investment in culture.

“Fostering the cultural sector provides recognition to artists from Amazonas, in addition to moving the entertainment economy. The work reinforces the relevance of cultural public notices that provide the necessary support for many projects to get off the ground and benefit thousands of people”,

said Apollo.

In addition to the artistic class, the work from Amazonas involved local labor in the production of the revolving stage, produced at the Technical Production Center (CTP) José Carlos Viana Marques (Zezinho), in Cachoeirinha.

The director and creator of “Cabelos Arrepiados”, Tércio Silva, celebrated the nominations with enthusiasm, after being nominated for Best Lighting.

“In March, the biggest award of the Teatro para Infância e Juventude takes place and having our operetta ‘Cabelos Arrepiados’ nominated in three categories is a tremendous joy and emotion, because it is us, artists from Amazonas, competing with artists who are giants and who we admire so much. . For me, just competing is already recognition”,

reveals the director.

Last year, the cast was on display for six weeks at Sesc Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. And in São Paulo, he toured several venues in the interior of the state. The work also won in two categories at the 21st Cenym Award, from the Academia de Artes no Teatro do Brasil: for soundtrack, signed by Jefferson Mariano and for best theater group of 2022. The honor is considered the Oscar of Brazilian theater, which seals Buia Teatro as one of the most active theater groups in the North region.

Synopsis

The children’s operetta “Cabelos Arrepiados”, by Karen Acioly, staged by the Buia Teatro de Manaus, has already been seen by more than 20,000 people, and circulated in six Brazilian states, in almost three years on the road. The work tells the story of five children who cannot sleep, involving the audience in the story of the effects of sleep deprivation and dreams, in addition to themes such as friendship, parental relationships and consumerism.
