Alckmin jokes with Salles’ plan to be mayor of SP – 03/25/2023 – Panel

At an event on Thursday (23) at the Secovi-SP (São Paulo builders’ union) headquarters, vice-president Geraldo Alckmin made a joking comment about the intentions of federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP) to run for Mayor of São Paulo in 2024.
When greeting those present, the mayor of the capital, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), mentioned Salles, and said that he hoped he would have four great years as a parliamentarian. Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) former Minister of the Environment had already left the place.
In his turn to speak, Alckmin said that Salles will, indeed, serve a full term as deputy in Brasilia. The climate was described as friendly by the participants. The former minister and the former governor have an old close relationship: Salles was Alckmin’s private secretary (2013-2014) and environment secretary (2016-2017) in São Paulo.
Federal deputy Tabata Amaral, Alckmin’s party colleague, also intends to participate in the municipal dispute in 2024. In addition to the three, Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) should also run for office.
